Midlife Crisis Success Story Letters

Bomb drop was real and it was painful.  Never in my life had I felt so rejected. How could he not love me? How was this horrid lady?  What the F*ck?  

It was June 2013 when the bomb went off and my knee jerk reaction was all of these: I hate you! Get out! We are done!

Then over the next few months my eyes were open.  And I could see everything with new eyes. And my eyes don’t lie to me. I married this man because he was the GREATEST choice for me, then something happened. Over and over. God? Talking to me? Weird. That’s crazy right?  Nope. I had a strong male voice speaking real words of action to me and they were all “Good, kind, understanding” choices.  

But I want to be mean, rude and unkind. I want him to hurt. I want him to pay! I want him to suffer like he made me suffer.

That was May 2013. Today, I see my commitment to my marriage and what I promised as a wife, didn’t even begin to make sense until then. It was a journey I hated, but I would never ask for a redo because I learned more about marriage, commitment, family, what it takes to be an incredible human, all in a few years that most never learn in life time.

Maybe that’s why I’m here?  To face that “dark night of the soul,” or some challenge, that we here on Earth, are given to either face alone or with a partner or family.  These challenges truly define the statement: “this life changing event is when you find out who are your real friends.”
