I am not a fan of diaries or journals. I used to be and somewhere I lost my rhythm of writing about me. My kids each have a journal and when they graduate from college I’ve delivered a binder of memories that will keep them full of their past forever! It is not that I do not like writing or keeping my life in writing.

Journals are so hard to keep up. It is the stress of knowing I have made a commitment to write in it. That is why I stopped my subscription to People magazine. I could not keep up and the stress of seeing them stack up unread gave me hives.

Then I think of all that I have to write and I just do not have the time. And because I am the type of person who beats myself up when I fail at a commitment, I strictly avoid them. Besides, when I do think of filling one in, it has been so many days since the story happened that now it is just too much of a bother.
