Midlife Crisis Survival as An Oak Tree

I did not write this….I did edit it though!  I love rhyming and it wasn’t as good as I could make it so I tweaked it!  Hope you like it?  This tree signifies a Midlife Crisis.  Surviving a midlife crisis and keeping your man strong and home is what this tree is – YOU.  You husband can’t be normal as something is wrong.  Trust that he will find his way home.  Believe he is “coming home.”

Like I said, the below was sent to me by a MLC wife I coach!  (I LOVE It when you guys send me things to share!  ❤️❤️

It is beautiful….

The Giant Oak Tree…

A mighty wind blew night and day.
It stole the Oak Tree’s leaves away.
Then snapped it’s boughs and pulled it’s bark, until the Oak Tree was tired and stark. But still the Oak Tree held its ground
While other trees fell all around.

The weary wind gave up and spoke,
“How can you still be standing Oak?”
The Oak Tree said anew, “I know that you can break each branch of mine in two, Carry every leaf away & shake my limbs and make me sway.

But I have roots stretched in the earth,
That keep growing stronger since my birth.
You will never touch them, for you see.
They are below and the deepest part of me.

Until today, I was not sure of just how much I could take.
But now, thanks to you, I feel so strong and will not shake.”

The oak tree held its ground. It stayed straight. While the storm tried to break it down, the wind eventually grew tired. Who knows how long the storm raged, it was powerful enough to steal every leaf away. But In the end, the oak was still standing. Broken limbs, snapped bough, stolen leaves and all.

The oak trees roots extend down into the ground up to two times their height.

I am not sure the oak would have survived the storm had it not been for its roots. There are many times you could have been broken by the storm, but God had a greater plan for you. Even when you have been at your worst – there is always something to be thankful for – another breath, a supportive family member, a comforting warm home.

Do we fear the wrath of the future, or do we stand tall and trust that we will stand strong during the hardest of storms.

The answer is to learn from the mighty oak tree and plant ourselves on solid ground with solid Core Values (get My Grateful Book to choose your own Core Values to stand tall!) that keep you standing and walking straight.

He will catch up.  Don’t worry or watch him. Focus on those roots…growing deeper and deeper and stronger and stronger.
